Soap Box Cars

• $1,794 — Support woodshop student teams - and other classes - by purchasing two soap box car kits and covering entry fees for two racing competitions. Involved students in reaching out for community sponsorships, as well.
• 120 students will benefit by helping in the construction of the cars and subsequent racing of the cars.
• Soap box cars will be built cooperatively by teams. This activity will utilize not only woodshop skills, but also problem-solving and knowledge from the areas of auto tech, engineering, art, journalism and photography. Participation will promote school pride and connectedness. Also, community involvement will be encouraged as students seek community sponsors to fund future years’ competitions and, possibly, additional cars.
