Multimedia Lancers: A Multimedia Center for Students and Faculty
Rebecca Murphy and Brenda Fishman
- $4,000 — Equip a multimedia center students and faculty. They will have a well-equipped center to create quality presentations for classroom use, Junior Achievement marketing, sports programs, and other activities.
- All students/faculty may sign up to use this center before, during or after school. This presentation equipment and software has previously only been available to students enrolled in computer courses and advanced graphic art courses.
- Equipment in the center will include a powerful computer, scanner, DVD burner, digital video camera, color printer, Adobe Creative Suites, and Vegas+ DVD Production Suite.
The addition of this multimedia production center will enable SME to take more full advantage of the presentation equipment recently installed in all SME classrooms. It will allow all interested students/faculty to stretch their creativity and produce sophisticated presentations.
Students in economics classes, for example, are looking forward to utilizing the center to produce logos and marketing materials for Junior Achievement student companies. In the past, it was often necessary to pay a professional artist for this work.
The equipment will enable STUCO to better promote student activities. It will also be helpful for sports banquets.
Broadmoor graphic arts students will train faculty on the equipment. The equipment will be secured in an office adjacent to room 314.
