Computer Film Production: “An Apple a Day”

  • $2,337 Purchase an Apple iMac computer, a Canon digital camera with accessories, and software such as iMovie, iPhoto, and iTunes to be used by students in the Gifted Ed classroom.
  • 100 students a year in grades 9 – 12 will use the computer and camera equipment.
  • The new equipment allows students to utilize technology to enhance creative productions.
This equipment and software will allow students to create and edit productions for classroom use, as well as public service announcements, web-based promotional videos, and short films, all of which may be entered in the District Short Film Festival.

The equipment also fosters new opportunities for students to collaborate with others outside of the school in a Learning Exchange group formed by Apple.

Finally, when not being used for the creative projects mentioned, the computer can be used to as an additional station, offering more students access to the web to work on individual study and research projects.
