Hands-on, Minds-on Science 2004: Experiments in Physics

Miles Martin, Physics Teacher, and Kevin Oehme

  • $28,761 Purchase five PASCO Comprehensive Physics Complete systems to teach Physics and Physical Sciences classes.
  • 850 students per year will benefit from hands-on experience with light, sound, friction, magnetism, and electricity experiments.
  • This equipment will bring the world of physics from the theoretical/mathematical realm to the visible/observable realm.

Specifically, the equipment which will be purchased from PASCO Scientific will include force sensors, light sensors, sound sensors, temperature sensors, software and much more. Also included is training -- trainers will come to the school to introduce faculty to he uses and benefits of the equipment.

By bringing difficult science concepts to life in experiments, teachers expect overall improvement in students’ academic performance and interest in science.
