• $3,044 — Funding to purchase yoga equipment, Wii games, tv, cds, and Dance Dance Revolution to be used in special education during seminar time.
• Approximately 30 special education students per year will benefit from this equipment, as well as numerous regular education students who will serve as mentors.
• Participation in physical education with this equipment during the otherwise unstructured seminar times will keep students actively engaged in something productive. This physical activity will benefit the strength, coordination, and overall student health. Research indicates it will also increase social skills, attention and on-task behaviors.
