Laptops for Special Education English: Closing the English Achievement Gap

- $6,000 — Purchase a cart of six laptops and printer to help individualize instruction to enhance English learning of special education students.
- Initially 58 students will benefit from using the equipment, with more each year.
- Create a positive learning environment for students of all ability levels in 10th grade, co-taught English classes.
Combining technology, statistical measurement, and Multiple Intelligence Theory, these laptops will be used to individualize instruction.
In addition, this mini-lab will serve as a testing aid and learning center.
The goal is to raise standardized test scores and close the gap between the general and special education student populations.
