College Counseling Professional Development 2008

Lili Englebrick (Counselor Coordinator) and all of our counselors

• $11,056 — Allow each SME counselor to attend a conference to enhance his/her expertise and effectiveness in the college counseling process at SME.
• 1,000 students per year (juniors and seniors) will benefit from a stronger precollege guidance and counseling program.
• Our seven SME counselors will attend five different conferences with this grant money. Knowledge and materials obtained will be shared with fellow counselors during in-service training to maximize the impact of the conferences. In addition, by attending five different conferences, the counselors will establish a wide network with college admissions representatives and build relationships that will, ultimately, benefit our students.
