Social Studies Technology Initiative: SMART Board Instruction

- $4,098 — Provide funds for one SMART Board, one laptop computer and stand to incorporate new technology into American History instruction and explore its use in other social studies departments.
- A SMART Board will allow an entire class to engage with excellent interactive history websites and hear from primary sources.
- This technology will elevate content that some students may view as “dry, dusty and boring” to “vibrant and interactive.” It will especially help the success of students who have difficulty learning from a straight lecture format.
Ms. Arndt-Helgesen plans to pass on her training with this technology to the entire Social Studies division, exploring how other department members can also use this technology.
