one printer, carrying case and power cord to be used in Debate, Mock Trial and Forensics -

- Mathematics Technology Upgrade – Provided funds for two SMART Boards, stands,

Complete systems to teach Physics and Physical Sciences classes. The PASCO system

- Making the Learning Connection – Provided funds to develop a learning profile for
all students in grades 9 and 10 utilizing a research-based learning model developed
through Learning Connections - additional $3,574 approved September 2005 (initial grant application)

Shakespeare in the Classroom – Provided three years of funding for The Kansas City
Repertory Theatre Shakespeare in the Classroom enrichment program targeted to
Sophomore students. The English department would ork with four actors during three
weeks to analyze and edit personal versions of the plays Julius Caesar and Othello - $9,000 (over three years; approved March 2006)
- Making the Learning Connection - $3,837 (initial grant in 2004) (initial grant application)
- A Passkey to Success - Provided funds for 200 individual student licenses for a
modular computer-based program providing instruction in math, reading, writing,
science and social studies - $6,000 original grant
- A Passkey to Success – Additional funding in 2006 for a wireless laptop
mobile cart with networked printer - $20,000
- SHARE - Provided funds to support staff and operations for 1,800 student leaders and
countless children and families in the metropolitan area through the SME SHARE
program - $15,000 (over three years, $5,000 per year; approved January 2005)
- Shawnee Mission East Coffee Shop (approved May 2006) - Provided funds to transform Room 417 into a retail coffee shop. Project is cross-curricular and involved community collaborations. - $7,000
