For the 2009-2010 school year, The East Fund decided to put more of our volunteer and financial resources directly into grants by scaling back our annual party. Instead of the full auction, there was a casual Gifting Party at the Bank of Prairie Village on February 27, 2010. Enthusiastic patrons were able to sign up for sensational themed parties, bought chances to win coveted Lancer items and events, savored yummy appetizers, sipped complimentary beer & wine, and delighted in brilliant company and conversation.
The Gifting Party raised over $20,000, which will support student programs, professional development, and technology at SME.

The East Fund Gifting Party and Feast for East are the major fundraiser for the Shawnee Mission East Educational Excellence Fund (The East Fund). The East Fund deposits contributions into the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so all contributions are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law, while the East Fund retains control of all donations and disbursements.
