The Shawnee Mission East Educational Excellence Fund
What is it? Join in the fun, socialize with old friends and meet new ones as patrons of SME come together for an evening of celebrating the great tradition of SME by supporting this live and silent auction.
Who does it benefit? The East Fund supports and enriches our students’ learning environment. Funds raised at Lancer Blues and BBQ will support classroom programs, staff development, technology needs and other requests submitted by SME teachers, administrators, and students.
In the 2009-2010 school year, your generosity awarded the following grants:
- Laptops for Special Education English - $6,000
- Vertical Axis Wind Turbine – $10,618
- Provides electricity and teaches about alternative energy sources
- Late Bus Service - $2,164
- Student Apparel and Spirit Wear Shop - $5,000
- Operated by DECA students
- Large Format Photo Enlarger - $2,600
- Conference Room Projectors - $3,770
- Computers and software for SEEK program - $2,550
- Robotics T-shirt Launcher - $889
- Lancer Dancer Room Sound System, Projector and Screen - $6,038
- Also used by Theater students and P.E. department
